Sorry, not an exciting post…just a maintenance log for myself.
Well, it was that time. The 1200R was overdue for an oil change with 11,622 miles on the odometer. I suspect the oil and transmission oils had been Harley Synthetic when I bought the bike (kinda remember the dealership telling me that when I picked up the bike), and the way the tranny fluid flowed I’m pretty sure it was. Changed to HD dino oil for both the engine and the primary. Also, adjusted the clutch and primary chain. I’m hoping all this kinda quiets down the clunkiness of the transmission…but weather has sucked so I haven’t ridden it far enough to know (around the block doesn’t count).
Other things to note…I just changed the rear turnsignals to mount on the license plate so I can now use my saddle bags on the 1200R. Looks kinda cool.
